Kansas Music Hall of Fame inductee, Danl Blackwood is an accomplished singer, songwriter and musician. His impact on the local music scene, however, is five-times as his passion for music and local arts resonates through his work with JAM4DAN, an annual three-day music festival that honors the late Dan Falley, highlights and showcases emerging and established talent and provides scholarships for area youth. Danl co-founded the event in 2008 to honor his friend and continues to grow the event as one of the leading annual music showcases. Perhaps most personally proud Jam4Dan moment occurred in 2020 when his grandson Khalil Blackwood performed. Danl also enjoys serving with the Topeka Bible Church worship team, where you may also find him on stage performing.
Finishing Danl’s trifecta, is his phenomenal photographer work in which he documents musical happenings and shares his point of view from and within Topeka and more. View his works at AstraLunar Photography
If that isn’t enough for you, he also “makes computers do what they are supposed to do” his mission, motto and impetus for his “day-to-day.” A proud employee of Evergy, Danl also provides customer service and tech work to those in need. Learn more here.
